"Where do we go now?"
"Back."
"All this way? For nothing?"
"Yeah."

Wanted to stir away from my main projects and do something small. I promised myself I wouldn't pass the 4 hour mark, and am glad to say that unlike 100% of the previous attempts, I actually made that promise. Therefore there's quite a lot of things that could be improved. Oh well.

Wonderful job, just as always. The tower itself seems like a visual mix between the Isengard tower and the Dark tower from a book series of the same name. A question, though: You usually describe the premise / context of your "Works". What's with this one?

Thank you! As to your question; I actually have a pretty interesting story behind this, that I've kept to myself for some reason. This bit, also belonging to the re-imagined Sandbox series, gives us a look at two lone wanderers, who, after days of travel by foot, meet a dead end at the very edge of their map. Their names are 9, and 347, and they are both Admins. 9 and 347 were separated from their Admin Squad after their Build community disbanded. Not belonging anywhere to settle, they've been looking for their squad ever since. They are tired, and wasted - and funnily enough, the building behind them is an old waste disposal facility. It's abandoned, just like them, and it no longer serves a purpose, just like them.

I actually want to develop 9's and 347's story with more pictures belonging to a series called 'Server Dust', hence the title, complete with comics and more detailed looks at this re-imagined Sandbox universe I keep going back to. Although I'm not exactly sure there's enough viewer interest for this, given it's a good bunch of work.

Absolute madman Vioxtar. I always loved imagining Gmod as it's own fictional universe of sorts ever since I saw War of the servers at the age of 9. I'd even say you're making a slav's childhood dream come to live, eh. Thanks for answering the question though. Although I'm very curious about how the universe of yours works when it comes to the "Greater scheme" rather than personal stories. How are the maps separated? What are the other gamemodes like?

There are no other 'gamemodes'. There are no alternate realities. There is just one reality - and that reality is the one of Sandbox. The Sandbox reality takes many forms, all determined by an individual's perception and interpretation, and ultimately by one's choice. Within it holds all structures of existence, and all ways of life.

All pictures were captured from the same world. The world has no name. It may be Earth, it may be another. There may be others like it and it may be the only one of its kind. It exists in a universe much like our own, with physical laws and limitations. The world is big, bigger than one can imagine. It has rich geography and varying climate. Most of it is covered by water, but there is still more land than one can ever wander. Never fully explored and studied, never wholly populated. The world has an extremely limited set of organic life. In many ways it's not very different from our own, but that's as far as the similarity goes.

Players populate exclusive regions and land masses of the world, which they call Maps. Players are mostly Humans, yet are still confined within a fixed form of mystical, unexplained existence. Their nature is rooted with that of Half Life's canon and history. Their ancestors belonging to the days of the Seven Hour War, Players themselves have a vague idea of who the Combine were, of the enslavement, and of how things used to work back then. They still possess Combine resources, such as their clothes and technology, but to them, all of that belongs to the past and is nothing but an old tale. They don't ask questions. Players don't know why they exist, or how they came into being in the first place. Today, Players come to this world through a process they call 'Joining'. A Player Joins when he or she is born, and like us, they age with time. Children exist in this world too.

That is just a bit on Players and their reality. There is more, but I haven't really established all these ideas myself. I also don't think about them until I'm already posing. I let the poses lead the story. They are slowly bringing a new piece to the puzzle with every submission, and I guess it's up to us to leave the rest to our own interpretation. I'm exploring these possibilites just as much as you are :D. I have more shots lined up that portray key aspects of the universe coming, so keep an eye out :) Thank you for the interesting question!

I'm ready to kiss you in the least homo way possible just because of how awesome what you wrote was. Is it, cough-cough, copyrighted? If not, do I have your permission to submit something set in the said universe?
